Beyond Neon

Below is the synopsis of a film we are slated to begin production on this year, this is close to our hearts and we hope we will be able to fund it soon.

Beyond Neon (working title) is a documentary film based on the resurgence of Downtown Las Vegas, starting with the Fremont East Entertainment District. This will chronicle the people at its core, the businesses that have set up shop and are continuing to come here to build a community in a city within a city, that was long forgotten, written off as smoky casinos with cheap steak and eggs, yard long drinks, and deep fried whatever you want.

There are major players in the revamp, Tony Hseih, the risk taking, out of the box thinker who is moving his Zappos.com headquarters into the old city hall building. Jennifer and Michael Cornthwaite, the “Prince and Princess” of downtown, with the many projects they have going on, as well as Emergency Arts, providing a place for artists to have a place to call their own without a huge price tag.

The former Mayor Oscar Goodman, and current Mayor Carolyn Goodman are hitting hard to take downtown to the next level and bring it back to the great days it has once seen.

There are many other people who make it happen everyday in business and in being neighbors, and world changers.

The face and style of the city is coming into its own, on a scale and at a rate that is rarely seen. This will show the good, the bad, the ugly, which all make up what is the city within a city that is Downtown Las Vegas, from the Arts District to East Fremont Entertainment District, and including the Fremont Street Experience. This is the people, the businesses, the struggle, the success, our life as we live it to make a better city, a true community.

This is a new Vegas, a different Vegas, our Vegas, and we want to show the world what is happening “Beyond Neon”
